Roderick Hillman Munnerlyn, son of Isaac Dewey Munnerlyn and Lydia Belle Hill, was born
September 19, 1927 in Lonoke, Lonoke Co., Arkansas. Roderick served in World War
II as a Navy SeaBee, serving his service in Japan. During his life
Roderick held several different occupations; auto mechanic, long distance truck
driver and later in life he was owner-operator of his own Pest Control Service. Two of his sons followed and opened their own businesses as well.
Some time after the war and returning to the states,
Roderick married DeLois Marilyn White in April of 1948. Five children were born
from this union, two girls and three boys, JoEllen, Sharon, Fred, Rod and
David.

After 22 years of marriage, Roderick and DeLois
divorced. Roderick then moved from California to Texas where he married a
second time in Dallas Co., TX to Sharon Jodia Harman on December 11, 1971.
Roderick and Sharon had no children of their own, but they did adopt Sharon's
granddaughter and together they raised her.
Roderick passed away in Arlington, Texas at a hospital from cancer on February 23, 2001. He was buried
at Southland Memorial Park, Grand Prairie, Dallas Co., Texas. He was preceded in death by
his second wife Sharon on June 27, 1995, and his first wife DeLois on June 25, 1999.
His oldest son, Fred passed away four years after him in the same month.
