Martha Francis (Munnerlyn)

Martha Francis Munnerlyn was born September 23, 1865, to James Washington Munnerlyn and Martha A. Martin in North Carolina. She married Joseph Wilson Bishop on October 8, 1885, in Lonoke, Arkansas. They were the parents of four daughters and three sons. One son predeceased her. At the time of her death on May 15, 1951, she had 17 grandchildren and 24 greatgrandchildren. She is buried in the Evergreen Cemetery in Odem, San Patricio Co., TX.
She and her family moved to Bee County, Texas, from Arkansas in 1908. Shortly thereafter they moved to Odem, Texas, where the family was raised. They owned a large home on the farm as well as a home in town. Both homes are still occupied in 2003.
The photograph from left to right is Clarence Leonard, Clyde Henry, Allie Mae, Mattie Belle, Eugenia, Minnie, Martha Francis Munnerlyn and Joseph Wilson Bishop. The son, Benjamin was deceased when this photo was made in about 1934.
