John R. Munnerlyn
(ca.1816 - 17 Oct 1888)

John R. Munnerlyn is believed to have been born in Anson County, North Carolina, ca. 1816.  It is not known who John's parents were at this time. John married ca. 1840, assumed to have been in North Carolina, to Patsy West, said to have been Cherokee Indian. It has recently been determined from census records that her name was Patsy Martha, or Martha Patsy West.  Some time around 1870 John and his family moved to Mississippi, possibly in DeSoto County. A few years later, the family moved to Lonoke County, Arkansas.  John died 17 October 1888 in Lonoke County, Arkansas.

John and Patsy had the following children:
