Thomas Mixon Munnerlyn, the son of Benjamin Holt Munnerlyn, Sr., and Elizabeth S. Davis was born in Saxton, Sabine County, Texas on 18 July, 1861. Thomas married Hattie Lucinda Errington on the 26 December 1888 in Saxton, Sabine County, Texas. According to one of Thomas' grand children, Hattie's mother was Cherokee Indian. It was also said that Thomas one day left his mother's family on a cattle drive and never returned to live near his mother's home. Thomas lived as a tenet farmer in the West Texas area. He and Hattie had many children; Florence Etta, Anna Lou, Mary Nannie, Thomas Arvol, Benjamin Hurd, William Bryan, Sidney Mixon, Albert Brown, Hattie Elizabeth, Nellie Edna, George Mazon, Mabel Estelle. Thomas died 12 August 1947 in Breckenridge, Stephens County, Texas. He is buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Lacasa, Stephens County, Texas.

Found in a book of deaths & cemeteries in Sabine Co., Texas, a Tom Munnerlyn was recorded as being buried in an unmarked grave in the Munnerlyn Cemetery below Patroon, Texas age 3 months 13 days, died on 20 Jul 1904. This would gives a birth date of 7 April 1904, the same birth date as Thomas Mixon Munnerlyn's son Albert Brown who also died at a very young age in 1904.
