Quinn Davis "Shue"
Munnerlyn
(25 Jul 1912 - 17 Apr 1992)

Quinn Davis Munnerlyn, was born in Patroon, Shelby
County, Texas on 25 July, 1912, son of Benjamin Holt Munnerlyn, Jr., and Mary
Eugine Miller. Quinn Munnerlyn was given the nickname Shue. He started working
at the Coca Cola Plant on Shelbyville Street, Center, Texas when he was 13. He
worked there while he was going to school playing football and basketball until
1945 when he joined the U.S. Air Force. He went back to work at the Coca Cola
Plant after serving in the Air Force 4 years, three months and 26 days. He married Maud Lee
(Mahan) Windham, 29 January 1947, Shelby County, Texas. They lived in
Center Texas and ran a store out of their home. Maud had one son John Dean
Windham from her first marriage and a one son between this marriage, Quinn Davis
Munnerlyn, Jr. Shue enjoyed fox hunting in East Texas and had several
dogs, hounds and beagles for that purpose. Shue also spent many hours in a
work shop behind their house restoring antique furniture after he retired. Shue died in Center Texas 17
April 1992 and is buried in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Shelby County, Texas.
