Benjamin Holt Munnerlyn, III, was born in Shelby
County, Texas on 24 June, 1907, son of Benjamin Holt Munnerlyn, Jr., and Mary
Eugine Miller. Benjamin father never knew his father Benjamin Holt
Munnerlyn, so this Benjamin Holt was called Junior and went by B.H.
Junior. BH, Jr. married Blanche Cannon on 9 January 1937 in Shelby County,
Texas.
From research of Dr. Horace Williams:
"BH worked for the Coco-Cola Bottling company in Center, Texas for fifty
years. He completed his half century of service on May 22, 1975. It
was a great occasion for him and for the city of Center. The president of
the Coco-Cola company came to Center to honor him. The mayor of Center,
Mann Pinkston, issued a special proclamation which read:
"Whereas, today, May 23, 1975 marks the
50th Anniversary of the employment of B. H. Munnerlyn with Center Coco-Cola
Bottling Company, and Whereas, B. H. Munnerlyn has been active for many years
in civic, school, and business affairs in the City of Center, Texas, and
Whereas, the president of the Coca-Cola Bottling Company is paying B. H.
Munnerlyn the honor of visiting Center on this day, Now, therefore, I, Mann
Pinkston, in my official capacity as Mayor of the City of Center, Texas do
hereby issue this proclamation of Greetings and Commendation for his 50 years
of faithful service. Witness my hand at Center, Texas this 23rd day of
May, 1975.

A week after the death of B. H. Munnerlyn
the football team of Center played a game with Kilgore, Texas in Center.
The flag was flown at half mass in memory of B. H. Munnerlyn. A newspaper
account of the event said: " .. he had been associated with Center High
School for over 50 years. He was a member of the early District
Championship Football Club. He not only played football there as a student
but helped coach the teams during World War II" while the coach was
away."
Benjamin and Blanch had one child, Philip
"Michael" Munnerlyn.
B. H. Jr. died on 11 October 1975 in Center,
Shelby County, Texas he is buried in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.
