Capt. John Munnerlyn
( bet. 1740-1751 -  21 Mar. 1821)

Capt. John Munnerlyn assumed to be the son of James Sr. Munnerlyn and an unknown mother.  John was born between 1740 and 1751.  He was a captain in the Revolutionary War serving under General Francis "Swamp Fox" Marion.  He fought with four of his brothers, Capt. Benjamin, Capt. James Jr., William, and Loftis Redlee Munnerlyn.  John married Sarah Keene daughter of Buckingham Keene and Mary Lewis in around 1780.  John died in Marion county 21 March 1821, and his wife Sarah followed a couple months later.  John and Sarah had several children. There is some information that has his father as John, for instance the William Charles Sweet Letter, it is not known if this is correct or not.
