William Wilson Munnerlyn,
Sr.

William "Wilson" Munnerlyn was born in Georgetown, South Carolina, 8 March 1869, a son of Maj. Benjamin Allston Munnerlyn and Anna Jane Wilson. William married Jane Roebuck. Wilson went to school at Winyah Indigo Society Academy. He was a graduate of South Carolina University, class of 1891. He worked for the Georgia, Central Railway service, and then was engaged with the Southern Car Service Association, where we was in Atlanta, Georgia. Wilson married to Lucy Izard Middleton 24 May 1898, Georgetown County, South Carolina. Wilson was later transferred to Columbia South Carolina. Due to his father's failing health, he moved back to Georgetown, South Carolina. A co-partnership was formed between he and his father with his father's insurance firm, B. A. Munnerlyn and Company. Wilson carried on the business after his father's death. Wilson and Lucy had one daughter Lucy Middleton, and two sons Benjamin A. and William Wilson, Jr. William Wilson Munnerlyn died on 20 March 1921, and is buried at Prince George Winyah Episcopal Church Cemetery, Georgetown, South Carolina.
