Margaret Munnerlyn Mitchell

Margaret Munnerlyn Mitchell was born to Eugene Muse Mitchell and Maybelle Stephens in Atlanta, Georgia on November 8, 1900. Margaret died in Atlanta, Georgia after being accidentally struck by a speeding car.  She died on August 16, 1949. She married Berrien Kinnard Upshaw in 1922. The marriage ended because of spousal rape and was annulled in 1924. Her second husband was John Robert Marsh, married on "Independence Day", 4th of Jul 1925.  In 1922 Margaret began her career writing for the Atlanta Journal as a journalist under the name Peggy Mitchell. She quit in 1926 after an ankle injury. Margaret Munnerlyn Mitchell is known for her book "Gone with the Wind".  Since there is so much information on the internet about Margaret Mitchell, we will not go into detail about her life.
