Benjamin Munnerlyn was born in
Georgetown, South Carolina, 19 December 1867, a son of Maj. Benjamin Allston Munnerlyn and
Anna Jane Wilson. Benjamin attended The Citadel in Charleston, SC, where he
graduated on July 28, 1886. His occupation was in Civil Engineering. In the
1888-1891 City directory of Savannah, Georgia Benjamin is listed as a clerk for
C. R. R. During the construction of a bridge over the Ogeechee River, Benjamin
was killed by a struck on the head from the hammer of a pile driver. He
died in Savannah, Georgia from the accident on Mar 17, 1893.
