James Jr. Munnerlyn son of James Sr. Munnerlyn
and an unknown mother was born around ca. 1748. James Jr. was a Captain in
the Revolutionary war and served under General Francis "Swamp Fox"
Marion along with four of his brothers. Capt. John, Capt. Benjamin,
William and Sergeant Loftis Redlee. It is speculated that James Jr. married the
widower of John Baxter, Mary Britton, sometime around 1800. James Jr.
settled in Williamsburg Co., S.C. and died there before 1820. James and
Mary had three sons: Joseph W., Henry B. (b. ca. 1804) and James J. The
three brothers left Williamsburg Co., S.C. in 1825 along with James Baxter their
half brother for Alabama.
