NOTES:

1) We know that Henry B. his brother James J Munnerlyn and half brother Joseph W. Munnerlyn left Williamsburg Co., S.C. in 1825 for Ala. They left with James Baxter who is probably their half brother. Mary Britton married 1st John Baxter and had James and after John's death, she must have married James Munnerlyn Jr. and had the 2 boys Henry & James. In the Britton letters (with Munnerlyn connections) from Ala. The Munnerlyns involved in those letters are the children of James Munnerlyn, Jr. (son of the original James) who settled in Williamsburg Co. and died before 1820.

2) In the "Kittrell Journals" by Pleasant Williams Kittrell (1805-1867) of North Carolina, Alabama and Texas (Bryan, TX, 1980; Family History Foundation) we find Henry B. Munnerlyn and James J. Munnerlyn.  This is recorded between the years 1853 and 1867, at the time living in Madison County, Texas. Henry B. Munnerlyn is found in the Journal in Madison County, TX in 1854.

3) In the 1850 Census: Alabama, Greene, Mt. Hebron; Sarah J. Wilson, listed in the house with Henry B. Munnerlyn is his niece, the daughter of his older brother Joseph Munnerlyn and an unknown first wife.

4) In the Probate for Henry B. Munnerlyn, the Robert Wilson is Sarah J. Wilson's son. In a deed found in Madison Co., TX, Robert Wilson sells a Lot in Madisonville and mentions his mother's name Sarah Trueax. Evidently Sarah Wilson had remarried.

5) In Henry's probate, he mentions a cousin John Munnerlyn.  This John Munnerlyn has been determined to be the John R. Munnerlyn found in 1850 & 1860 census in North Carolina mother Fanny.  He also had a brother Robert and William.  John & William are found in Madison County in the 1870 census.  John Munnerlyn was one of the party who contested Henry's will. John and his brother William moved on to Young Co., Texas after Henry's death.

Questions:
1) Where is Henry B. Munnerlyn's brother James J. Munnerlyn in the Census records?
2) Did Henry's brother James J. Munnerlyn marry?
3) Who is the Mary Munnerlyn in Henry' Probate.
4) In the Kittrell Journal, Henry B. Munnerlyn is listed as a Doctor.  Where did he go to school?
5) Does anyone have a picture of Henry B. Munnerlyn?

If you have an answers you can e-mail to the Munnerlyn List or the Webmaster.
